Extraordinary & Endangered

I bought this for my niece who loves wildlife, and she hasn’t put it down since it arrived. The fact that it’s backed by the NSW Government’s Saving our Species program makes it feel important, not just another picture book. It’s a powerful reminder of what we stand to lose.

It’s genuinely moving to see this book highlight creatures and plants most of us never knew were in danger. The Saving our Species collaboration gives the profiles a grounded, urgent feel that you don’t get in typical nature books.

I was drawn in by the stunning photography of each species, and the details on the NSW Government's conservation efforts made it feel urgent and hopeful rather than just sad.
