Celestial Buddies Moon

Meet the Moon, Earth's only natural satellite and loyal companion as both orbit the Sun. Formed when a massive object collided with Earth in the early universe, the expelled material came together to create the Moon we know today, its surface now covered with around half a million craters left by impacting meteors and asteroids over billions of years.

The Moon doesn't emit its own light — the brightness we see is simply the Sun's rays reflecting off its surface. Its orbital and rotational periods are identical, which is why we only ever see one side of it from Earth. When its orbit takes it directly between the Earth and the Sun, a solar eclipse occurs, briefly plunging parts of the world into darkness. The Celestial Buddies Moon plush is a soft and huggable way to explore these remarkable facts, making it a wonderful gift for budding astronomers and space enthusiasts of all ages.
